The Two Sides to every Brain
The human brain, although only the size of two fists, is an amazingly intricate organ. Without the brain, humans could not function or live; they could not eat, breathe, walk, or communicate. In fact, our bodies would be rendered useless. The brain is divided in two: the left brain and the right brain. Both sides of the brain have specific functions, but sometimes the two sides of the brain interact and work together. The right brain focuses on the expression and reading of emotions, understanding metaphors, and reading faces while the left brain is far more logical, focusing on language skills, analytical time sequence processing and skilled movement. . . . keep reading
Body Language and Facial Expressions
Unless you're a spy for a foreign country, you probably have never taken a formal course on how to have expert control over your nonverbal communication, or body language. Maybe you will want to, however, after you've learned just how important body language can be in reading someone's message and how much it can truly "give away" one's real feelings and emotions on a subject. . . . keep reading
Changes As We Age
Lots of unseemly things happen to us as we age. We begin to lose our hearing, sight, memory, hair (!) and generally our whole body begins to change. One thing we can't change as we get older, however, is our body language. Over the course of your life your body language becomes a part of how you communicate with others. . . . keep reading
The Eyebrows
In a world where over 50% of communication is done non-verbally, it is important to understand what certain gestures mean. Almost every part of our bodies can be used to communicate, be it the way one looks into another's eyes or the way one crosses their legs. The human face is arguably, though, the most expressive part of one's body. The eyes alone can reveal numerous emotions, like anger, fear and sadness; however, the importance of one part of the face that is sometimes overlooked is the eyebrows. How do people use the eyebrows to communicate non-verbally? What roles do the eyebrows play? What messages can be sent through eyebrow gestures? You will be surprised. . . . keep reading
Neuro-Linguistic Programming Part II
Neuro Linguistic Programming is more down to earth than its name would suggest. It is not a mind bending theorem that can only be understood by someone in a clinical lab coat. It is closer to behavioural attitudes and everyday lives and can be utilized by anyone from high school kids to CEOs with equal profit. Techniques of NLP help you discard negative programming and change it to positive ones that arise from a better understanding of how your perceptions work for you. Nose wrinkle
Tonya Reiman
Do they wrinkle their nose at you? Have you ever noticed, mid-sentence, that someone scrunches up their nose at you? Why do people crinkle their nose? The nose crinkle is a very reliable indicator of how we are feeling about a person and/or subject because the expression is an unconscious one. . . . keep reading
