Do you wear glasses? How about sunglasses?
Tonya Reiman
Sure most people have heard that glasses make you look older or smarter, but did you know that a person that wears glasses will often use them to make a bunch of gestures that can tell an experienced body language expert a myriad of things? Continue reading to find out if you are using your glasses in ways that make people perceive you as being studious, sincere, secretive, conservative, intelligent, insecure, devious, controlled, sophisticated or something else. So what do your glasses mean? Let's take it a step further. Sure people often perceive people that wear glasses as smarter, more educated and more studious, but there are more distinctions. Business people that are leaders and high level executives generally wear thicker and heavier glasses. People that wear glasses with thin or small frames are more concerned with fashion rather than business. Of course, take the business environment out of the equation and the smaller frames would work to your advantage as you are working to build rapport in a social environment. So why not have 2 pairs? One for that strictly business, powerful image and one to convey the "I'm like you, I'm easy going" image. It's all about perception! Whether you wear glasses or not - you know that being a master communicator is not just about your image and perception but also about knowing how to read others to gain that competitive advantage. After all, knowledge is power!
