1-7-08: Give Them Something to Drink!
Scenario: Let's say that you are at a restaurant, diner or sitting at a table having a conversation with someone and you would like to know how they feel about what you are saying. Perhaps it is a sales situation or an important meeting.
Solution: Give them something to drink. It could be a can of soda, glass of water or even a cup of coffee. Often times they will let you know whether or not they are open to what you are saying by where they put their drink down. Are they placing it off to the side, leaving themselves looking "open" or are they placing the drink across their body causing them to reach across their body to get the drink thus causing their arm to act as a "closed off" barrier between the two of you.
