Invisible Conversational Thread

Printer-Friendly Format

As discussed in a previous newsletter, it is tough when conversation runs low when first meeting new people - usually those of the attracting sex as men can usually (and I stress usually) discuss sports and women can discuss almost anything :). However, there are times when you are grasping at straws to keep a conversation moving along. ITC can easily come into play during these instances. An example of invisible conversational threading might be .... I wanted to take my kids to the game this week but even baseball is so expensive these days.

I know, it seems like everything is going up in price - its tough to do anything as a family anymore.

I know, the middle class is getting hit on everything from sporting events to gas for our cars.

I know - it kills me to fill my tank each week - now is really the time to have a smaller car. Speaking of which, did you see the new electric cars that are coming out?

Your conversation has gone from baseball games to electric cars in just a few sentences
